in my room: scout.



As soon as we discovered we were having a girl, I began planning the nursery. I scoured design blogs, magazines, made idea boards and slowly collected, recycled, gathered, made, bought and designed every aspect. We decided to steer away from pink this time around and instead went with neutral, natural tones: white, cream, tan, green, yellow, orange. I found many things on Etsy, but when I couldn't find the exact bunting or mobile I wanted, I decided to make it myself. And it turns out that I'm craftier than I thought!

I love the natural light that streams through the window, I love the freshness of the white furniture and the colours that seem to 'pop' against it. I love the mixture of re-purposed, gifted, new and handmade elements and the fact that the room was a joint effort between myself, Jake (the muscles) and my crafty friend Eloise who helped me sew the bunting and the fabric birds. I love that Jake's mum also made a beautiful quilt which suits the 'forest critters' theme to a tee.

And now that her room is complete, perhaps now Miss Scout wants move out of our room, and into her own?
